Lá Aonaigh i Scoil Chlochar na Trócaire, Béal Tairbirt.

Our Annual Fair Day and Artefacts Display took place on Thursday September 27th in school yard. The brilliant sunshine reflected the wonderful atmosphere which contributed to its resounding success.

The scene was set by all the school children, teachers and some parents dressed up in old clothes, playing music, dancing and displaying various artefacts and antique items pillaged from the homes of their parents, grandparents and neighbours ……………… joined by Edwin Woodhouse with his vast array of artefacts.

Like the Fairs of yesteryear, a variety of animals and fowl were on display for the children to experience and enjoy.  The art of Jam, Bread and Butter making as well as the crafts of cobbling, painting, knitting and storytelling were all showcased.  The Sisters of Mercy, who attended, enjoyed the specially scripted Drama by 1st & 2nd class depicting their arrival to Belturbet 150 years ago.

“Once the displays were taken down, the artefacts stored away and the animals and fowl safely returned to their homes, the most lasting result of yet another successful fair day will be the appreciation which the pupils will now have in artefacts, crafts and old farming methods and respect for the past which gave rise to them” explained Mrs Flynn (Principal).  Míle Buíochas to all

There will be new beginnings

as you move off the old, familiar, well-trodden path.

There will be difficulties

you never dreamed of, moments of doubt,

moments of fear – but there will be amazements too.

A turn in the path - and the world will be at your feet,

another and you will be passing through a wooden ravine.

All along your way there will be new things

To see and taste and smell and touch.

This will be the way you choose.

This will be your happiness, your life.

My thoughts go with you.

Fáilte romhaibh uilig chuig ár "Suíomh" nua. Taimid ag tnúth leis an lá seo le fada mar tá sár-oibre déanta again chun an tionscnamh nua-aimsire seo a cheiliúradh.

As Principal of the Convent of Mercy N.S., Belturbet, I am proud to be the leader of such a wonderful community, one which is caring, progressive, forward thinking and inclusive. My wish is that all of our pupils will develop the skills and confidence to be successful in reaching their potential, in an environment where the highest standards in Teaching and Learning are achieved.

At the heart of our success, is a team of dedicated teachers and support staff, who are all committed to ensuring that our pupils receive the very best education that a school can provide. We recognise and acknowledge the importance of the home-school relationship and the Convent of Mercy N.S., is very fortunate to be fully supported by parents/guardians, who are both interested and actively involved in their children's education.

I hope you find our website interesting and helpful and will revisit it on a regular basis in order to keep up to date with the many activities that take place throughout the academic year.

Tá súil agam go mbainfidh sibh sult agus taitneamh as.
